Ant Ecology available!

Well folks, it's here. 3 years, 3 months and 3 days after the pledge, Ant Ecology is in print and available for you to purchase or download from Oxford University Press. I (and family) am relieved and overjoyed that it is out.

Lori, Kate and I are happy with the final product. We hope you are too.

Happy reading.

Happy Belated Birthday E.O. Wilson

Wilson's foreword for Ant Ecology acknowledges the leaps and bounds he has witnessed in the study of ants throughout his 65 year research career. He muses that the myrmecological torch might be passed on in this volume, having been wrested from his and "a few other old timers'" grasp. Ant Ecology synthesises knowledge from across disciplines and creates a direction for the future of ant ecology.

We wish Ed Wilson a belated happy birthday, and wish we were at the World Science Festival to celebrate his contribution to our understanding of the natural world. Thanks for endorsing our efforts Professor!

Alex Wild's stint on Photo Synthesis

Alex Wild is the guy behind the majority of Ant Ecology photos. He has brought myrmecology to life for so many publications. In addition to his regular blog, he has just finished a stint at Photo Synthesis, a rotating showcase of some of the best science photography on the web.
Check out some of his recent posts there....
